A Git friendly way to handle WP updates

The WordPress auto update feature is nice – but doesn’t necessarily play nicely with Git. We struggled with the issue, until we found a simple and clean solution. It let’s us use auto updates for selected plugins, while using a manual Git flow for others. It’s easy to setup, especially if you are comfortable with WP CLI.
